Tuesday Morning Monotype: Play with the Plate with Akua Demo Artist Joyce Silverstone

This workshop is designed for monotype participants who would like to delve a little deeper into mark making and color with the support of an on-going class. Play and improvise in a variety of monotype techniques with the addition of some repeatable images on incised Petg drypoint plates. The primary focus of drypoint and color will unfold over the course of five workshop days with a week of time to digest and practice between each session.

Each day of the workshop begins with a demonstration of a printmaking technique and a focus on one aspect of platemaking, followed by supported practice time with the materials. Participants will be encouraged to experiment, and apply these processes to their own individual print projects.Over the course of five weeks, participants will get to know the tools of the studio, the unique qualities of Akua Water-based Inks, and innovative monotype methods while exploring texture, line and color.
