Sato Yamamoto

Sato Yamamoto is a Japanese bilingual artist inspired by culture and diversity. Born in Meguro, Tokyo – currently living in Westchester, New York.

Her unique style of art includes advanced ambidextrous and Ukiyo-e printmaking skills, that she uses in her artistic practice. Growing up in Japan, Sato used various techniques to create dynamic designs and expressive scenic views of the world around her. As an instructor Sato has lecture of woodblock print, lino cut, origami, poetry and drawing includes K-12 classes.

She facilitates workshops with Teachers and Writers Collaborative, Center for Book Arts, New York Public Library, Manhattan Graphics Center, Poster House, and Japan Society. Sato is the Teaching Artist Affairs Committee member of NYC Arts in Education Roundtable, also the National Advisory Committee (NAC) member of Teaching Artists Guild.

As a visual artist, she received grants from Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, NYFA, NYC Cultural Affairs, and Japan Women’s University. Sato’s art has been presented by IFPDA Print Fair, SGCI Conference in 2016, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the School of Visual Arts, LIC-Artists, and Speedball Art Products.
