Encaustic Collagraph Monoprinting at Fountainhead Art Space with Elise Wagner

This two-day workshop will walk you through every step of the encaustic collagraph method that Wagner pioneered. The approach taken to printmaking in this workshop is more from a painter’s point of view. Here, you will get the chance to break all the rules of encaustic; using significantly less wax and minimal fusing or layering. You will build the collagraph matrix, applying Akua Intaglio inks to create monoprints from your collagraphs on an etching press. The plates that you create in this workshop can be reused and printed from again and again, giving you the ability to work in multiples or series. You can add to your plates over time as you go or remove the white wax to start over again.
