Summer Monotype + Monoprint with Akua Demo Artist Joyce Silverstone

Play and improvise in this workshop as a means of generating ideas and expand your visual vocabulary. This workshop will provide guided experiences in a variety of monotype techniques with the addition of monoprint plates that are carved / incised / built to explore repeatable-but not-necessarily-edition-able plates. We will explore combining textural plates with stencils and masks. Simple collage techniques will be introduced to encourage visual surprise, allowing these chance moments to loosen up any art making practice. Teaching will highlight basic principles of color, texture, and light in monotypes and monoprints, while becoming familiar with how to print with Akua Intaglio Inks.
